Are you interested in using article marketing for your MLM advertising but just don’t know how to write an effective article or even where to start? Well, you’re not alone! Many suffer from this type of writer’s block.
Article marketing not only helps you build a list, but it helps you build an audience. There are new people coming online all the time who are looking for guidance. Have you been frustrated by lack of leads? Do you want to experience the power of article marketing the same way savvy Internet Marketers do? Imagine having 20 – 100 or more home business leads coming in every day! It’s possible!
Part of the challenge of writing articles is either not having the time to write them or again, not knowing how to write them yourself. You can certainly hire someone to write articles for you. There are plenty of gifted writers you can find online who understand how to expertly write on your behalf. And, you can hire them fairly inexpensively. A typical charge might be $5.00 to $10.00 per article.
The good news is there’s a very simple way for you to learn how to write your own article. There is a simple formula for you to follow which involves Planning, Producing, and Polishing.
Plan
Create an outline. Create as many outlines as you can so you have an inventory of ideas of future articles you’d like to write.
Outline:
1) Start with the main idea the article is going to convey
Write one phrase summing up the idea. i.e. Why use an autoresponder? (An autoresponder is a piece of software that enables you to send emails to people automatically.)
2) Make a list of keywords you want to put into the articles (3 to 5 is ideal)
3) Write out the points you intend to make in the article. For example, what is an autoresponder? Who uses one? How much time using an autoresponder can save
4) Summarize the article: write the action you want the reader to take. For example, summarize the time saving benefits of an autoresponder. People respond to benefits not features
5) Title: Use a question as the Title. The original idea of the article usually makes a great title.
Produce: Writing Formula
1) Introduction: define the problem you will help reader solve. Begin with a question that resonates in the mind of the reader
Frequently Used Motivators (1st 4 are the BIG FOUR)
- Desire to make more money
- Desire to save money
- Desire to save time
- Desire to make things easier
- Desire for more free time (desire to do fewer things)
- Desire for personal autonomy; being in control of your life
- Desire to escape present conditions i.e. get out of debt, lose weight
- Desire to help others live a better life or solve problems i.e. health and wellness
- Desire to leave a legacy for those that follow you
- Search for significance
- Desire to influence others, change the world, and change a system
2) Help them relate to problem and feel the pain
Ask a question to help the reader relate to the pain. i.e. Have you ever been frustrated by all the hype you hear online? Do you want to experience the power of autoresponders but don’t know how to set one up? Would you like to have a website of your own but don’t want to learn html? Want to learn how to market online but don’t want to spend another $997 on a marketing course?
It’s best to let your Introduction be one to two paragraphs long.
3) Possible suggestions to solve the problem
i.e. Autoresponder article: list alternatives like hiring someone to send out an email on your behalf or, sending out emails at night after work.
The alternatives you list don’t have to be overly attractive. They just need to be alternatives that could work. It’s okay to say that some of the things they have heard will work or won’t really work.
Only touch lightly on the other possible solutions. What you’re trying to do is sell your product as the best solution.
4) Introduce your solution “The good news is, there is a better way!”
You want say that you’ve done the research so they don’t have to. You want them to be thinking that your solution may be best. It’s important here to reveal the full solution. Show the answer and how to use it in their life. Use curiosity but give enough content.
5) Action steps
Give 3 to 5 (max) actionable steps the reader can use to implement your solution. This is the heart of the article…the what to do and how to do it section. Lay it out in steps that build on each other. Encourage them to be thinking about a new solution to their problem. Make sure your steps are in a logical sequence or you’ll lose the reader.
6) Summarize your solution
A summary paragraph that comes at the bottom of your action steps. What’s in it for them. Summarize what the main benefit is. 3 to 4 sentences long.
7) Call to Action (Resource Box)
This is where the strongest selling you will ever do in Article Marketing occurs and how you can use your articles to generate cheap MLM leads. You can use urgency, scarcity, emotion, and more.
Polish
Once your article is produced, it’s time to polish it up. Here are some guidelines on how to do this.
- Check language and grammar
- Keep the language easy to understand
- Remove “technical jargon”. If you have to use technical jargon, make sure to define the terms. If you know that the audience will understand, then technical jargon is fine. If not, define the terms in the body of the article.
- Strife to never confuse your reader
- Consider the length of the article (500 – 1200 words long)
- Make sure there are enough keywords in the article. Use synonyms.
- Make sure you have enough benefit statements
- Paragraph length should be about 5 sentences. Make them easy to read. People read about half the speed online than they do on paper.
- Sentences: use short sentences. The enemy of a good article is run on sentences. Keep the length short. If you’re conveying multiple ideas in a sentence, break it up into more sentences. Each sentence should contain one thought.
What To Do Now
1) Start brainstorming on various ideas you can write lead generation articles about
2) Do some basic keyword research for your first article idea. Come up with 3 to 5 words
3) Put together an outline of your first article using the formula described in this article
As you use the Article Writing Formula described here, you will find that not only will article writing become much easier for you, you will be writing well performing, lead generation articles in abundance in no time flat! You can do this! Don’t let the fact that you haven’t written many articles in the past stop you.

Nice post and I think its safe to say that no matter what industry you are in, success or failure mainly depends on the quantity and quality of your leads. Everyone reading this should see the movie Glengarry Glen Ross, and if you’ve already seen it then watch it again! A.B.C Always Be Closing!
